If you landed here because you searched for a way to roast yourself in your backyard without melting, welcome to my review of the Sloosh inflatable tanning pool. The video shows me filling it with the garden hose and trying to look relaxed while baking on my patio. My honest verdict is that it actually works decently well if you want a cheap way to cool down. It is essentially an oversized dog bed filled with tap water. You just lie there in two inches of water and let the sun do its thing.

The one thing nobody mentions about these personal pools is the plastic squeak. Every time you shift your weight to grab your iced coffee or turn over, the ribbed bottom makes a sound like a wet balloon rubbing against a window. It totally ruins the illusion of a luxury resort spa. You will need to put a towel underneath your back just to muffle the noise and stop your skin from suctioning to the vinyl.

This video completely flopped with my regular viewers. I posted it right in early June when everyone was hunting for patio ideas. The problem was my editing choices. I started the clip by panning across the empty plastic pool instead of showing my face right away. People scrolled past it in two seconds because it looked like a generic catalog ad. Next time I do a summer review, I am going to start with my actual face on camera while giving my opinion. It turns out you guys want to see a human being before you care about a giant plastic puddle.
