I posted this video right before summer hit to save my fellow tired parents. The clip shows me setting up a personal tanning pool on my slightly patchy backyard grass. If I am being entirely honest about this product, it is basically a giant plastic roasting pan for humans. You fill the bottom with a few inches of hose water to stay cool while laying outside.

The verdict is that I genuinely love it. It is perfect for those weekends when I cannot summon the energy to drag my kids to the neighborhood pool. You absolutely need an electric pump to inflate it. Doing it manually would take half your morning.

My favorite design detail is the cup holder situation. There are two distinct holders molded into the plastic rim. I joked in the video that one is for hydration and the other is for parental survival. The brilliant part is that these holders are surprisingly deep. A heavy insulated tumbler sits far enough down that a stray backyard soccer ball will not knock your drink over.

This particular video totally flopped. It got fewer than eight hundred views because my opening shot was just me wrestling with the cardboard box. Nobody has the patience for unboxing shots anymore. The parents who did stick around for the cup holder joke ended up getting one for themselves. They understood the assignment. If I film this again, I will start the video already lounging in the water with a book.
