This video is just me inflating a giant adult puddle in my backyard so I can finally sit down. The tanning pool is exactly what it sounds like. It is a shallow inflatable raft you fill with the garden hose so you can lay in the sun while supervising your children. My honest verdict is that it feels a bit ridiculous to set up but is genuinely brilliant once you actually get in. You get just enough water to keep your core temperature down without having to put on a proper swimsuit, pack a massive beach bag, slather everyone in zinc, or commit to a public pool.

One tiny detail I have to point out is the ribbed texture on the bottom pad. It totally stops you from sliding around like a wet seal when you inevitably have to shift your weight to yell at your kids to drop whatever gross thing they just picked up.

The video itself completely tanked on views. Barely three hundred people saw it. I posted this in late April when half the country was probably still defrosting from spring rainstorms. The algorithm did not care at all. The moms who did catch it were highly engaged though. They left incredibly funny comments about the sheer exhaustion of summer parenting. I think they just appreciated the reminder that we are allowed to buy plastic backyard toys for ourselves.
