Just a little Saturday morning cleaning
Editor's notes
If you stumbled onto this page looking for motivation to scrub your own counters, welcome. This video is a simple timelapse of my Saturday morning kitchen reset. I propped my phone against a coffee mug to get the angle right. Then I turned on the speed-ramp feature and spent twenty minutes tackling the absolute wreck my family made of the space. You are basically watching me wipe down the island at warp speed.
People sometimes email me about the spray cleaner I use in these clips. It is honestly just tap water with a tiny drop of blue dish soap. It cuts through the sticky spots perfectly well. I will admit the real hero of this routine is the textured waffle-weave cloth. If you look closely at the edge near the sink base, you can actually see the fabric grabbing the massive pile of toast crumbs my kids leave behind. That little crevice is a nightmare to keep clean. Regular paper towels just push the crumbs further into the seal.
This specific clip barely got four hundred views. The opening shot was entirely too slow. Most people swiped away before I even picked up the sponge. However, the viewers who did stick around were highly engaged. They liked the bright morning light hitting the white cabinets. I think there is a quiet comfort in watching someone else do domestic labor. It gives you a tiny feeling of accomplishment without requiring you to lift a finger yourself.
