I filmed this quick clip while dangling my feet off a chairlift. The deep greens of the mountain backdrop looked gorgeous against the neutral suede of these Vans Old Skool Platforms.

My honest verdict on these sneakers is that they are solidly reliable. They give you an extra inch of height without looking clunky. One thing nobody mentions about the platform version is the stiffness of the sole. Since the rubber is twice as thick as standard Vans, the shoe absolutely refuses to bend when you flex your foot. You end up walking a bit like a friendly robot for the first two weeks until the rubber finally softens up.

Virtually nobody saw this video. It flatlined at exactly thirty views. I had a great verbal hook prepared specifically for millennial women who are tired of narrow shoes. The issue is that I totally forgot most people scroll in absolute silence. I failed to put a text hook on the screen or show my face during those critical first two seconds. Scrollers just saw a random pair of sneakers floating in midair and swiped away. It was a very humbling reminder to always add text to those opening frames.
