I started this video by calling out that lazy habit we all have of crushing the heels of our perfectly good sneakers just to run out to the mailbox. I held the Vans up to the camera immediately so you know exactly what we are talking about. Then I transition to sliding these mules right onto my feet to prove they solve that exact problem without looking sloppy. Showing the actual fit on a real foot is always better than just holding a shoe in the air.

My honest verdict is that these are ridiculously practical for taking out the trash or walking the dog. But there is a catch. The canvas rim where the heel is cut away sits exactly a quarter-inch below your ankle bone. If you wear these without socks on a humid day, that raw edge will give you a tiny friction burn on your heel pad. You absolutely need a friction block stick or thin invisible socks if you plan on walking more than a block.

This video completely tanked with my audience. It barely scraped past three hundred views, which tells me exactly where I went wrong. I posted it in late September when everyone was aggressively pivoting to heavy boots and cozy sweaters.
