When I first pulled these out of the package I laughed out loud because they looked completely absurd lying flat on my bed.

Once you actually put them on, the shape makes sense. The secret is the fabric. It has just enough stretch to let you sit down comfortably without bagging out by noon. Here is a tiny detail you would only notice after buying them. The waistband has an incredibly thick reinforcing stitch right at the buttonhole that makes it nearly impossible to fasten the first four times you get dressed. You will absolutely struggle in the bathroom until that thread softens up.

I started the clip by tackling the obvious question of whether these make you look wide. They absolutely add volume to your lower half. You just balance it with a fitted t-shirt or a tucked-in sweater. The light blue wash feels very relaxed, while the brown pair is slightly more polished for a crisp autumn day.
