#@Katch Me Chic

Editor's notes

This is a clip from a Katch Me Chic live sale where the host steps right up to the camera to show off a pair of tailored trousers. The pants themselves are genuinely nice. They actually have that heavy drape you usually only find in vintage menswear.

I always tell people to watch the waistband when a creator physically leans into the lens. In this video, there is zero gaping at the lower back. That is notoriously hard to find if you have any curve to your hips. The physical movement here is actually brilliant because stepping close to the camera creates a natural sense of intimacy. It feels exactly like your sister showing off her outfit before you both leave the house.

But you will probably notice this video totally flopped with barely three hundred views and a sad one percent engagement rate. The reason is completely obvious if you listen to the first three seconds. Her face is right there in the frame, but she opens by loudly announcing that she is going live. Nobody wants a direct sales pitch yelled at them when they are just quietly scrolling their feed in bed. That immediate broadcast voice killed the cozy vibe. The clothing was solid, and the camera presence was great, but my audience hated the infomercial opening. They kept right on scrolling.
