Short sleeve crop sweater
Editor's notes
I filmed this right before the holiday sale chaos kicked in. You can see me spinning around in the video to show off every angle of this short-sleeve crop sweater. I kept moving the camera and pulling the fabric right up to the lens because I wanted you to see the actual texture. It is a lightweight knit that I bought hoping it would bridge the awkward gap between hot September afternoons and chilly mornings.
The verdict is solidly in the middle. The yarn itself is surprisingly soft for a synthetic blend. But here is the specific detail that drove me a little crazy. The ribbed hem is strangely tense. It naturally rolls up slightly right at the belly button. If you are reaching for a coffee mug on a high shelf or picking up a squirmy toddler, you are suddenly showing off a lot more stomach than you planned. I spent half my day tugging the bottom down. It is adorable if you are planning to sit perfectly still at a desk.
The stats on this video were genuinely humbling. Barely over four hundred people watched it and the comment section was basically a ghost town. I think my usual mom-life crowd took one look at a cropped hemline and kept right on scrolling. We usually prefer clothes that let us bend over to pick up scattered toys without a second thought. Lesson learned. Next time I will stick to knits that actually cover the waistband of my jeans.
