If it’s not a lawn mower, loud truck, or trash truck, it’s the rainnn 🤦🏻♀️😅
Editor's notes
I look completely ridiculous in this one. I am standing in my driveway holding a ring light while a sudden July downpour completely ruins twenty minutes of careful setup. The reality of trying to film anything at home is that you are entirely at the mercy of your neighborhood's daily rhythm. I had finally found a quiet pocket of the afternoon where the landscaping crews were gone and the garbage trucks had already finished their routes. I hit record and the sky just opened up. It is funny because as a homeowner you are always grateful for a free lawn watering. As someone trying to film a quick video, it is deeply frustrating.
If you look closely at the bottom left corner of the frame, you can see my neighbor's cat sprinting for cover under my porch. That little orange blur basically mirrors my exact internal panic. This one only got about a hundred and fifty views. I think people scrolled past because the lighting is so dark from the storm clouds rolling in. Those who did stick around left some very kind comments about the sheer annoyance of daily disruptions. Sometimes you just have to laugh at the timing of the universe and accept that the video you planned is not the video you are actually going to get.
