I ordered this crochet top because half my feed was trying to convince me pointelle knit is making a comeback. The video shows me trying it out with a pair of high-waisted linen trousers. I wanted to see if it actually works for a casual brunch or if it just looks like a confused craft project. It is honestly just okay. The lace pattern is surprisingly soft, but that ruffle hem sits at a very awkward spot on the hip.

My official verdict is that it passes the visual test but completely fails the practicality exam. The brand insists this is a summer shirt. I am telling you it functions like a personal sauna. The holes in the pointelle knit do not actually let enough air through to keep you cool. Wearing any sort of sweater in late June is a miserable choice unless your vacation happens to be heavily air-conditioned. There is one specific detail that bothers me deeply. You cannot see it in their catalog photos, but the neckline is finished with a thick ribbed band. It totally clashes with the delicate lace pattern everywhere else on the garment.

The performance on this video was absolutely dismal. We barely cracked five hundred views. My audience took one look at a knit pullover in the middle of summer and collectively decided to keep scrolling. I really do not blame them for avoiding it. Save your money or at least wait for a breezy September afternoon before you consider wearing something like this.
