The video you are looking at is just me talking straight to the camera about my own screen time guilt. I had a text bubble on the screen about the ridiculously low price of these YRZ magnet tiles.

My honest verdict is that you do not need to spend name-brand money on magnetic blocks. These knockoffs actually work. The magnets are strong enough that you can build a tower taller than your toddler without the whole thing immediately folding in on itself. That is the true test of a building toy.

There is one specific thing I always check with cheaper tiles. Look closely at the corners in the video. The expensive brands use metal rivets to keep the plastic from splitting open if a kid steps on them. These YRZ tiles have these heavily reinforced plastic corner brackets that essentially do the exact same job. My kids have stomped all over them on our hardwood floors. Not a single crack yet.

This video only got a few hundred views when I posted it. The people who did stick around really related to my opening rant about summer break survival. I suspect the low engagement is just because the internet is totally saturated with off-brand magnet toys right now.
