Washing produce or hosting a free sample station? ๐๐
Editor's notes
If you landed here looking for a magical way to prep fruit for the week, I have to apologize right now. This video is just me standing at my kitchen sink trying to wash a massive haul of strawberries while two tiny hands keep reaching up to steal them. My honest verdict on bulk-washing produce is that it feels entirely pointless when you live with small humans who treat the counter like an open buffet. I spend ten minutes soaking everything in baking soda and water. By the time I dry the berries on a kitchen towel, half of them are already eaten.
If you look closely at the bottom left of the frame, you will see my toddler's sticky fingers snatching a strawberry right out of the colander before it even gets rinsed. I completely missed that when I was filming. I was just trying to get the grocery haul put away so I could finally sit down. This clip did not reach the masses. It only pulled in about four hundred views, but the moms in my core audience felt it in their bones. The engagement was unusually high because anyone with young kids knows the absolute futility of trying to portion out snacks for the week. It just turns into a standing dinner at the sink. On the bright side, I had fewer containers to cram into the fridge.
