If you’re looking for a non-toxic alternative to traditional bug spray for kids

Editor's notes

If you found this page, you are probably dreading mosquito season. We are talking about those little citronella repellent stickers today. I filmed this quick demo right before morning camp drop-off to show how we actually put them on without a daily battle.

My four-year-old has terrible eczema. Traditional bug sprays make him break out in angry red welts, so we had to find another way. These patches are a solid solution because they go on his clothes instead of his bare skin. The video shows me slapping one on the back of his shirt collar. That placement is highly strategic. If you put it on a sleeve or a pant leg, a toddler will absolutely peel it off and try to eat it. Tucked behind the neck, they completely forget the sticker is even there.

This clip did not go viral by any means. It only reached about five hundred people, mostly because my opening sentence was a bit too slow to grab the algorithm. If I filmed it again, I would start with the footage of him running away from the spray bottle. But the parents who did watch were incredibly invested. The comments were full of moms sharing their own struggles with sensitive skin and aggressive summer bugs. It turns out a lot of us are just tired of chasing slippery kids around the yard with aerosol cans. These patches genuinely solve a very specific, annoying daily hurdle.
