Thousands of house fires ๐ฅ occur every single year because of poor dryer mainten
Editor's notes
If you found this page because you are terrified your dryer is going to combust, you are in the right place. This video shows a flexible vacuum hose attachment that reaches all the way down into the bottom of your dryer lint trap. I filmed exactly how to wiggle the plastic tube into that painfully narrow slot.
The honest truth is that it works ridiculously well. You just hook it up to your regular vacuum and let it eat. The best part of this whole process was seeing the huge wad of gray fuzz hit the clear plastic canister of my Dyson. It honestly looked like I vacuumed up a small rodent. One weird thing I noticed is that the plastic tube whistles a little bit when it hits the exact bottom of the machine, which is actually a helpful audio cue that you have pushed it down far enough.
This did not go incredibly viral when I originally posted it. It got a couple thousand views and barely any comments. I think people scroll right past appliance maintenance videos on their feed because it feels like literal homework. But the people who did stick around absolutely loved the gross-out factor of seeing the dust clump in the vacuum bin. If you are doing your yearly deep cleaning or just want to sleep better at night, it is completely worth the fifteen bucks.
