Pimple patches are accessories??
Editor's notes
If you landed here because you saw a teenager at the mall wearing neon stars on her face, welcome to the club. This video is just me in my bathroom having a minor existential crisis over a packet of hydrocolloid patches. We used to spend hours blending multiple shades of concealer to hide our breakouts. Now the youth are treating their zits like a charm bracelet. It is a lot to process.
Here is my honest ruling on these patches after testing them for a week. The technology is actually brilliant for absorbing fluid overnight. You wake up and the little star has turned satisfyingly opaque. But wearing a bright yellow sticker to school drop-off feels ridiculous to my millennial brain. I do have to warn you about the aggressive adhesive. I accidentally placed one too close to my eyebrow on Tuesday. I definitely waxed off a few hairs during removal. Keep them strictly on clear skin.
This video did not get massive views. The hook was too slow because I spent the first five seconds staring at the packaging in confusion. But the people who stuck around were incredibly vocal. The comments turned into a support group for elder millennials sharing horror stories about drying lotions and bad foundation. We might not understand the neon star trend, but we are absolutely buying them to use in the privacy of our own homes.
