Brushing my 4 year old’s hair used to feel like a WWE smackdown. This brush lite
Editor's notes
If you landed here from Google, you are probably fighting the same bedtime battles I was. In this video, I started by recording the awful, crunchy sound of a standard hairbrush getting stuck in my four-year-old's wet hair. You can hear the plastic bristles scraping against her knots. People really did not like watching this one. It barely cracked five hundred views because that opening sound was just too stressful for parents who already live that reality every night.
But the product I switch to halfway through is completely worth the ten dollars. It is a simple plastic detangling brush, but the visual proof in the clip is entirely real. Once I start using it, the brush slips right through her damp hair without a single hitch.
If you pause when I hold it up to the camera, you will see why it works. The bristles are actually varying heights. Some are really tall while others are short, so they separate the strands gently instead of just yanking the knot tighter. The back of the handle also has this tiny grid pattern molded into the plastic. It gives you a secure grip when your hands are coated in a thick layer of slippery kid conditioner.
The algorithm might have hated the painful audio hook, but the moms who stuck around until the end understood the assignment completely. We are all just trying to survive the evening bath routine without waking up the neighbors.
