I honestly couldn’t think of any other answer 🫠😵‍💫

Editor's notes

If you found your way here because you Googled for Spring Break survival tips, I am so sorry. This video is definitely not that. It is just me standing in my kitchen answering my youngest daughter when she innocently asked why schools give us a week off in March.

Instead of giving her a cute educational answer about seasonal equinoxes or farming cycles, my brain gave up and the truth spilled out. I rattled off my actual theories. I told her the break is mostly so teachers can go sob in a quiet room, and parents can be reminded of how desperately we rely on the public school system. My verdict on this rant is that I stand by every single syllable. The concept of a week off in spring is a logistical nightmare.

If you watch closely around the ten second mark, you can actually see my left eyelid twitch. That is not a comedic acting choice. That was a literal physical response to stepping barefoot on a jagged piece of dry penne pasta right while I was filming. I kept the camera rolling because the mild foot pain really grounded the total exhaustion of my delivery.

My audience clicked with this one immediately. The engagement was pushing twenty percent because it was completely unscripted and familiar. It turns out tired parents everywhere are hiding in their bathrooms by the middle of March. We are all just seeking a little solidarity in the madness.
