Using scissors regularly helps your toddler… *Develop fine motor skills *Improv

Editor's notes

If you landed here because you are terrified of handing your toddler a pair of scissors, take a breath. I completely understand. This video shows a straightforward way to introduce cutting without risking a trip to the emergency room or ruining your favorite rug. I just took some scrap paper, drew thick straight lines on it, and let my toddler practice snipping.

The setup costs nothing. You only need paper and those blunt-tipped safety scissors that struggle to cut through playdough. I kept the video purely visual because you really do not need a voiceover to grasp the concept. One detail you might overlook is how I folded and taped the paper to the edge of the table. That tiny step anchors the whole project. Toddlers simply lack the bilateral coordination to hold a flimsy sheet of paper steady while trying to open and close shears. Taping it down removes half the frustration instantly.

As for how it did online, the algorithm absolutely hated it. The hook was slow, and it barely scraped past four hundred views. People scrolling for fast entertainment did not stop for a fine motor skills lesson. However, the parents who did stick around engaged at a massive nearly ten percent rate. They clearly saved it for a rainy morning. It is not glamorous internet fodder. It is just the exact kind of practical, low-mess activity you need in your survival kit when the house is getting loud right before dinner.
