I filmed this matching egg set right before Easter because I wanted basket fillers that would not melt into the carpet. The video just shows my toddler sitting on the rug and actually focusing on putting the plastic halves together. My completely honest verdict is that they are worth every penny. They look like real eggs in a little yellow plastic carton. It gives you about ten minutes of absolute silence while your kid figures out the mechanics.

The teacher part of my brain loves that they force kids to practice bilateral coordination. You have to hold one half steady while rotating the other to make the pegs lock. But the detail I think about most is the weird scraping noise the plastic makes when a stubborn toddler tries to jam a green triangle peg into a red circle hole. They will try to force it for a solid minute before getting frustrated. Also, the pieces roll straight under the sofa the second you drop them.

This video flew totally under the radar with only about six hundred views. I posted it in mid-March. Maybe people were just looking for cute bunny outfits instead of actual skill-building activities that early in the season. The parents who did stick around to watch had zero interest in the developmental benefits I typed on the screen. They exclusively left comments asking if the egg carton was hard for a toddler to snap open by themselves. It is tough to open, which I honestly consider a major win for keeping the pieces contained in the playroom.
