I took a basic divided chip tray from the dollar store, filled the compartments with cupcake liners, pompoms, sequins, and cut-out paper frosting pieces. The whole point is letting kids assemble their own fake treats.

The secret here isn't really the craft itself. It is entirely about teaching a small child how to handle glue without painting the dining room table. Managing liquid glue bottles is actually a massive fine motor milestone.
