Rainy days call for fun activities!

We have all stared down a long afternoon with a cranky toddler. This video shows my survival tactic for those exact moments. I set up a muffin tin with baking soda and handed over some plastic droppers. Then I let the kids squirt colored vinegar into the cups to make mini explosions. It is basically toddler magic. The setup takes two minutes. You will spend more time wiping down the table afterward than you did prepping.

My honest take is that this activity is absolutely worth the kitchen smelling like a salad dressing factory. It buys me at least twenty minutes of quiet focus from my kids. If you watch closely in the background of the video, you can see my coffee mug sitting dangerously close to the splash zone. I definitely drank a little bit of pink vinegar that morning. You will also notice the beautiful rainbow colors turn into a swampy gray sludge almost immediately. Do not expect aesthetic perfection.

This post did not go viral by any stretch. It only hit a few hundred views. The algorithm buried it, but the parents who did see it saved it at a ridiculous rate. That eleven percent engagement tells me everything I need to know. We are all just looking for easy ways to keep tiny hands busy away from screens. It is messy but it works perfectly. I will gladly keep doing this until they outgrow the fizzing phase.
