Editor's notes
If you stumbled onto this page looking for the perfect toddler morning routine, grab a seat. This video is basically a time capsule of me trying to be a flawless home organizer back in February. I was attempting to show off those acrylic bins everyone uses for playroom storage. I made direct eye contact. I kept a friendly smile plastered on my face. My background looked incredibly serene.
The honest verdict on those clear acrylic bins is that they are gorgeous for exactly five minutes. You can see every single smudge, scratch, sticky fingerprint, and speck of dust the second a toddler goes near them. If you look closely at the bin in the bottom left corner at the three-second mark, you will notice a fossilized Goldfish cracker trapped under a wooden block. That is the true reality of a playroom.
This video only hit a couple hundred views. The engagement was actually pretty solid for a tiny audience, but my opening hook was practically non-existent. I just smiled at the camera without saying anything useful right away. That is the kiss of death on a scrolling app. The people who stuck around were mostly other parents who appreciated seeing a clean room, though I suspect they were also zooming in to judge the plastic smudges just like I do. Skip the acrylic and buy woven baskets instead.
