Editor's notes

If you found your way here searching for spring nail ideas, welcome to my shiny knuckle phase. This video is just a quick, well-lit look at a fresh set of iridescent gel nails I got right before the weekend chaos officially began. The lighting actually cooperated for once. You can see the pearl effect shifting from a frosty pink to a very pale mint color when I turn my hand toward the window.

The manicure itself is a completely solid choice. It held up beautifully against washing endless toddler cups, peeling rogue stickers off the hardwood floor, aggressively opening cardboard boxes, and scrubbing the bathtub. Because the base is so sheer, it completely hides the inevitable nail growth that happens when you delay your next salon appointment.

The one detail you might miss unless you are looking closely is how ridiculously oiled up my hands are. I got slightly overzealous with the cuticle dropper right before hitting record. It almost looks like my fingers are nervously sweating, but I promise it is just pure apricot oil.

This video barely scraped past two hundred views. The engagement rate was surprisingly high at nearly eight percent. That tells me the people who did stick around really liked the crisp video quality and the sheer color. The issue was the opening seconds. My hand is completely still at the start. Anyone scrolling by just saw a static palm and immediately kept swiping. Next time, I will start right in the middle of twisting my hand to make sure I catch the viewer's eye immediately.
